The MiSeq FGx Forensic Genomics System uses the sequencing by synthesis (SBS) chemistry of targeted sequences for Forensic Genetics analyses. One run simulataneously analyzes up to 96 single source DNA samples (or 32 casework) by interrogating 200 markers (Autosomal, X-chromosome and Y-chromosome STRs and SNPs) . SNPs include a dense set of identity, ancestry and phenottypic informative markers. This technology is optimized for very low input DNA samples of less than 1ng.

See here our recent publication on the applicability of this system to the specific case of the mass graves of the Spanish Civil War.
