The City

Barcelona is a city well-known for its international congresses and seminars. The largest harbor in the Mediterranean, it is the capital of Catalonia, the wealthiest part of Spain. Barcelona and its surroundings total approximately four million inhabitants. It is also a well-known cultural city with major academic and scientific centers. Barcelona has a significant hisorical heritage, with the roman Bàrcino, the medieval Barcelona and the mdoern industrial city existing side-by-side. It is very well connected with Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as the United States.

The building

The Center occupies most of the fourth floor of the new building on the main campus of the Pompeu Fabra University. It is very centrally located, with a beautiful view of the Ciutadella Park (one of the biggest parks of the city), and just a short walk away from the port and the beaches.

The JHU-UPF PPC includes nine offices for professors and their research assistants, one fully equipped meeting and seminar room and six classrooms of different sizes all of them equipped with video conferencing technology compatible with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health systems.
