The JHU-UPF Public Policy Center, together with the research group on Health Inequalities, Environment, Employment Conditions Knowledge Network (GREDS-EMCONET), studies employment conditions and relations, and how these affect the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. This knowledge can help identify and promote global institutional changes and policies that facilitate the reduction of social inequalities and the improvement of working conditions. Some current research areas are:

  • Monitoring and understanding employment precariousness and health.
  • The social mechanisms of occupational and environmental injuries.
  • The impacts of work and employment policies on social inequalities.
  • The impact of EU employment regulations in the global context, and the center-periphery relations in the EU political economy.
