The 2nd Fetal Cardiac Function Symposium will be organized in Barcelona (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) on Tuesday October 8th, 2019. It will address the latest imaging and image analysis approaches towards assessing and understanding cardiac function during fetal life. This will include a detailed discussion on the relation between cardiac (micro-) structure and function and the influence of cardiovascular abnormalities associated with congenital heart disease, fetal growth restriction, maternal diabetes, etc...Contemporary approaches using multimodal imaging, computational modelling and machine learning will be addressed. The assessment and interpretation of fetal cardiac function will be illustrated with relevant case presentations
