The grants modality aims to promote quality teaching innovation by funding projects that either directly or indirectly have the potential to improve the quality of education and transform learning processes at Pompeu Fabra University.

Teaching micro-innovation:

  • Proposals for specific actions, within the framework of a subject, focusing on the incorporation of innovative, evaluable, sustainable, effective and potentially impactful educational transformations.
  • Maximum: 1,500 euros per project.

Cross-disciplinary or networked teaching innovation:

  • Proposals of a collaborative nature to build projects with potential for cross-disciplinary impact, or of an interuniversity nature.
  • Maximum: 6,000 euros per project.

Compatibility:

  Grants are compatible with co-financing, provided they are not allocated to the same items of expenditure.

  Grants are compatible with prizes that promote educational quality and innovation.
 

Projects will preferably be biennial.

There is the option of doing annual projects if the scope of the proposal so justifies.

Implementation period:

To begin during the 2026-2027 academic year.

This call is open to all teaching and research staff who have links with UPF during the academic year of the call.

 For legal purposes, the project manager is considered the beneficiary of the grant. Each project can have a maximum of two people responsible.

  It is possible to participate in a maximum of 3 grants simultaneously, although it is only possible to be responsible for one.

Conditions:

 Project managers must have links with UPF during the academic year of the call and maintain their links during its implementation.

All projects that require the use of corporate infrastructures, applications and/or services must attach a favourable report, which will be issued by the corresponding service.

 Projects that require the participation of some other UPF body or centre must attach a document stating their conformity.

Eligible expenses:

  • External technical and professional services that collaborate in the project’s multidisciplinary tasks.
  • Fungible material and specific, non-inventory material that is essential for carrying out the project.
  • Inventory material that is essential for carrying out the project that is made available to the university community during or after the execution of the project. Prior authorization must be granted by the CLIK, which will consult the technicians qualified to certify its usefulness to UPF.
  • Paid external academic internships by university students.
  • Costs involved in publishing the materials produced.
  • Registration, travel, accommodation expenses and per diem, if applicable, to present a communication or give a presentation related to the project at a conference or congress.
  • Coordination expenses (travel, per diem and accommodation), in the case of interuniversity projects.
  • Other legitimate expenses related to the project, previously authorized by the CLIK.

Expenses that are NOT eligible:

  • Paying fees to UPF staff.
  • Hiring UPF staff (even if they are receiving a university teaching staff training (FPU) grant, a research staff training (FPI) grant or are adjunct lecturers, etc . Hiring must be carried out against an invoice and involve personnel who are not linked at the time with UPF.
In the event that the amount requested in the application is greater than the maximum amount of the type in which the initiative is registered, the envisaged co-funding must be included in the application.

Minimum requirements to be eligible for funding: minimum total score 60 points

 

Persons responsible for projects that receive a grant must submit a reasoned report justifying the effective execution of the projects.

The presentation of the reasoned report will be considered as participation in the recognition modality.

Deadlines:

The report must be sent by email to [email protected] before the following deadlines:

  • Annual projects: 17 November 2027
  • Biennial projects: 15 November 2028

Publication of the rules:

  • 19 February 2025.

Publication of the call:

Period for submitting applications in the grants modality:

  • From 15 to 30 May 2025.

Period for the review of the formal requirements for suitability for the call:

  • Within a maximum of 10 days from the deadline for submitting practices for grants.

Publication of the final decision of the grants modality:

  • Within a maximum of three months from the deadline for submitting projects for grants.

Delivery of the grant acceptance document:

  • Within a maximum of 10 days from the date of informing of the awarding of the grant.

Project execution end date:

  • 30 September 2027 (annual) and 30 September 2028 (biennial).

Presentation of the reasoned report:

  • Until 17 November 2027 (annual) and 15 November 2028 (biennial).
