Functions

The following roles and powers are assigned to the International Mobility delegate:

  • Support the vice-rectors for matters concerning teaching and internationalization in the coordination of student exchange and mobility programmes.

Curricula

Josep Capdeferro is a Serra Húnter associate lecturer in History of Law and Institutions in the Department of Law, where he is a member of the History of Catalan Law Research Group. He graduated in Law from UPF (1995), where he also obtained his European Law doctorate (2010).

He completed a predoctoral research period at the University of Paris II - Panthéon-Assas (1999-2001) and postdoctoral study periods at the same university (2012) and at the Institute of European and Comparative Law at the University of Oxford (2022). He has been visiting lecturer at the Public University of Navarra (2005-2006) and at the University of Toulouse I - Capitole (2019). His research is primarily focused on unpublished archive sources, legal allegations and legal literature from the 16th-18th century. His lines of research focus on lawyers and legal culture, the representative public law institutions (mainly municipalities, courts or regional governments), the auditing of public professions, collectives which have been discriminated against historically such as women or descendants of Jewish converts, the many varied types of justice courts, legal compliance and more recently, the legal history of hospitals and epidemics.

He has taken part in more than fifteen national competitive research projects, and is currently lead researcher of the R+D project "Singular conflicts to judge, arbitrate or agree (12th - 20th century)". He has published over 50 academic works in leading national journals (Afers, Ivs Fvgit, Recerques and Scripta) as well as international publications (eHumanista, Parliaments, Estates and Representation) and for prestigious international publishers such as École Française de Rome, John Benjamins, Routledge and Springer.

As far as his management experience goes, before taking on the role of international mobility delegate he was mobility coordinator for the Faculty of Law  (2004-2018) and teaching coordinator of the English Law & Spanish Law programme, delivered jointly at King's College London and UPF, and tutor for agreements of high strategic value for the Faculty of Law (2018-2023).
