Assigned roles and powers to the Cross-disciplinary Programmes delegate:

  • Support the vice-rector for matters concerning teaching in the coordination of cross-disciplinary training programmes.
  • The academic coordination of the Open Bachelor's Degree study programm.

Curricula

Ester Oliveras is an associate lecturer in Economics, Finances and Management at the Department of Economics and Business and holds a doctorate from the University of Central Lancashire (UK, 1999). In the same year, she started working at UPF as a tenure-track researcher and gained a permanent position in 2005. She has completed study periods at the University of Linköping (Sweden, 2000 and 2001), at Imperial College London (UK, 2014), at the University of Edinburgh (UK, 2015) and at New York University (USA, 2018).
Her interests include financial accounting and management. More recently, due to her involvement in teaching, her research has widened to include studying the subject of innovation in university learning. She has been published in journals on accountancy and education as well as having made contributions to several books. She is a regular contributor to El Periódico and Ara newspapers.
She has a wide range of experience of coordination teams, in gaining funding and in implementing projects. She has received funding for many projects focusing on innovation in education and research. In addition, she directs the ACME research group and has participated in European projects Digipay4Growth and BanDit.
She has promoted the Yunus Social Business Network, which she led from 2015-2018. This network is a coalition of eight institutions based in Barcelona which aim to assess the impact of the Barcelona Social Business City programme (SBC), an initiative started by Nobel prizewinner Mohammad Yunus, which is underway in various different cities around the world. 
She has been a member of the Governing Board of the Catalonia College of Economists (CEC) where she is also president of the Equality and Diversity committee. She directs the postgraduate course in Corporate Social Responsibility at the School of International Business, ESCI-UPF. 
At UPF she has occupied various management positions. Since 2003 she has been teaching coordinator for accountancy at the Department of Economics and Business, assistant director of the School of International Business (2005-2009), vice-dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences (2998-2016), rector's delegate for Sustainability (2018-2022) and vice-rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability (2021-2023).
