This simultaneous studies programme is a special degree programme, a two-area training, which allows students to recieve two degrees in a term of five years. It's built from the Degree in Humanities and the Degree in Journalism and it combines the curriculum of both two courses, simultaneously taken. The fact that both degrees complement each other is appreciated when entering the labor sector.

The UPF's Career Services (CS) offers a series of activities and services adressed to students of the latest courses and UPF alumni in order to favor ties between the students' learning period and their professional lives, and progressively develops a specific program about entrepreneur culture between future graduates.
The offer that CS proposes throughout the whole course continues beyond graduation, during professional work. The addressees of activities and services offered by CS are the students of the later courses and alumni of the UPF.
Journalism professional in any media platform that develop their activities creating news contents and using the various genres typical of information media. This comprises the job of editor, reporter, presenter and director of one or many of the aforementioned platforms, including desing, writing and execution of audio-visual or multimedia reports and documentaries.
Professional of a press office or communication of a public or private institution to ccoordinate or execute any work of an informative or communicative kind that the organization needs.
Specialist in communication phenomena and processes. current or prospective, for all kind of public and private organizations; abilities for mediation, advice, consultancy, measurament, and expertise.
The Humanities and Journalism (Humanities itinerary) simultaneous studies progam -both started in Humanities or Journalism- is facilitated by the fact that the degree of Journalism's (Humanities itinerary) curriculum shares a 50% of the credits of the first and second years with the degree of Humanities'.
Besides, the degree of Journalism allows to take as optional subjects that are compulsary and basic of the degree of Humanities in order to be a part of the Journalism studies, which allows one to do the simultaneous studies program in a reasonable time.
It depends the year that the student start the degree in Journalism, they have to take:

Course 2018/2019 -362 ECTS
Course 2021/2022 -374 ECTS
The students have to request joining to the simultaneous studies program, in the period of time stablished by the university, once enrolled in the second year of the degree of Humanities or the degree of Journalism (Humanities itinerary).
In order to continue with the planning of the program, it is suggested that the student is enrolled in the second year of the degree of Humanities or in the second year of the degree of Journalism (Humanities itinerary) at the moment of requesting the participation in this program.
In order to advance toward the following courses, the admitted students will have to obtain the amount of credits planned in the regulations in five years, according to the academic ordinance established for this modality of the program that combines both degrees.
The students will have to request the recognition of subjects with concordant contents, once passed in the corresponding degree, in order to be incorporated to the academic record of the other degree.
