6th Meeting of the Network Expert in Surveys on Working, Occupation and Health Conditions (ECoTES Network)

Last June 26 and 27, 2019, the "6th Encounter of the Expert Network on Labor, Employment and Health Surveys Expert Network" took place in Montevideo (Uruguay), organized by the University of the Republic of Uruguay with the participation of CiSAL -UPF.

The "Expert Network on Employment, Occupation and Health Conditions Surveys" (ECoTES) promotes and works on the development of methodological tools and recommendations for the investigation of working conditions, employment and health of working people. Its objective is to contribute to the development of knowledge about the quality of work and improve the comparability of research in Latin America and the Caribbean, including national institutions of education and research, as well as intergovernmental organizations. With the support of the ECoTES Network, surveys on conditions of employment, work and health, both new (Peru, Puerto Rico) and second rounds of other surveys (Central America, Argentina) have been promoted.

In this VI Meeting of the Network the following objectives were proposed:

  •         Present the results of the II Survey of Work and Health Conditions of Argentina and Central America.
  •         Present the results of the Pilot Study of the I Survey on Conditions of Work and Health of Puerto Rico.
  •         Consensus on the Field Manuals and surveyors for future ECTS.
  •         Discuss about the WHO-5 validation.
  •         Expand the gender component of the CTESLAC Minimum Content Questionnaire to get a more in-depth analysis on this topic.

Subsequently, on June 28th, a regional Symposium "An interdisciplinary approach to the study of working conditions, occupation and health in Latin America" ​​will be held in the framework of the Interdisciplinary Space of the University of the Republic of. Uruguay.

The opening of the Conference was carried out by Dra. María José Bagnato -Degana de la Facultat de Psicologia de la Universidad de la República de Uruguay
