Dr. Brema Ely Dicko (former head of the department of anthropology and sociology and lecturer at the Master programme in migration studies at the University of Bamako, Mali) gave a lecture on Malian migration and colonial and post-colonial policies in this country. During the session, he discussed migration patterns from Mali to its former metropolis, France, and delved into the post-colonial character of current border externalisation measures in this vulnerable Sahelian country.

The lecture took place in the framework of the course on Postcolonial Studies and Mediterranean History (professor: Oriol Puig Cepero).
