EUTOPIA 2050, the alliance’s first project, came to an end in 2022, paving the way for EUTOPIA More, a new step forward proposed by the EUTOPIA alliance’s ten regionally and nationally diverse universities to further their overall ambition of institutional transformation guided by open, inclusive, and innovative principles. The project, which will directly benefit their more than 300,000 students and 45,500 staff members, as well as their networks of local stakeholders and global partners, will be coordinated by Pompeu Fabra University.

EUTOPIA More has three main goals:

  1. Connect communities across campuses and disciplines through ‘Global Connected Communities’ and launch bottom-up projects tackling global challenges.
  2. Showcase the enriched curricula and life-long learning innovations of EUTOPIA’s education initiatives in a future joint EUTOPIA College.
  3. Integrate academic communities in research, innovation, and outreach to address societal challenges and involve local and global partners in the knowledge communities of the future EUTOPIA Global Institute.

These concepts are interrelated in practice, so while a tight structure is necessary to ensure the programme’s efficient management and delivery, the work packages will be designed to cross-fertilize each other to guarantee that it is holistic and integrated. To this end, the project is organized in six work packages, each with a specific goal.

EUTOPIA MORE is a step forward from the ten regionally and nationally diverse universities of the EUTOPIA Alliance as part of their overall ambition of institutional transformation guided by open, inclusive, and innovative principles
