Goal

In a decade, our collaborative strategies with external partners will have been fully realized, propelling EUTOPIA to the forefront of European universities that actively work towards solving society’s most pressing issues. By refining and further developing the successful models of our work packages, we will establish ourselves as trusted partners to a select group of external stakeholders. With their input, EUTOPIA will continue to expand our engagement with a wider range of partners, adapting to changing circumstances and innovative concepts. This working group, led by Ca'Foscari University of Venice and co-led by University of Warwick, has the primary goal of strengthening EUTOPIA’s global position and expanding connections with broader ecosystems across four levels.

  • EUTOPIA aims to strengthen its global position through a Local to Global Engagement Strategy, coordinating efforts with external stakeholders. The alliance integrates the local mission of each university to serve their communities in a common European vision.

    EUTOPIA aggregates individual university efforts to amplify impact at local, European, and global levels, serving as European connectors of a project with global reach. EUTOPIA aims to develop a resilient brand to strengthen European universities' positioning in a competitive higher education market.

  • EUTOPIA aims to connect and enhance its local and regional engagement through collaborative partnerships and challenge-based initiatives, capitalizing on its creative environments and promoting regional collaboration for integration and social cohesion.

    A strong focus on civic engagement and collaboration with local stakeholders will define a "EUTOPIA Local Development Plan".

  • EUTOPIA aims to promote and defend the European dimension in Higher Education and improve knowledge of European cultures, languages, and values. A strategy for European engagement and social/cultural inclusion will be defined within 4 years, and a plan for inclusive citizenship practices and formation of European identities will be established within 10 years.

    The "EUTOPIAn Citizenship Institute" will be a key component of the "EUTOPIA Global Institute" acting as an interface between the alliance and external partners.

  • EUTOPIA aims to integrate strategically important European regions beyond the EU, particularly the Western Balkans, into the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This will promote security, democratic stability, and research collaboration between the Alliance and institutions in those areas.

    EUTOPIA's long-term vision is to establish a "Network of Centres of Advanced Studies" nested within the EUTOPIA Global Institute to promote collaboration and inclusion.

  • The objective of the Global Engagement work package is to build upon the foundation laid by EUTOPIA 2050's 'Open to the World' initiative and further develop EUTOPIA's international engagements to solidify its position as a globally facing European university. This involves nurturing the benefits of global partnership and collaboration, both intellectual and economic, for European universities and their ecosystems.

    Through the collective efforts of the enlarged EUTOPIA alliance, the Global Engagement work package aims to develop a more ambitious and comprehensive strategy for global engagement that is grounded in ethical and social considerations.
