FAQS

How to do the self-enrollment the year that you will do mobility?

  • You only need to enroll the credits you will take in the UPF.
  • DO NOT enroll elective credits or mandatory subjects from your curriculum that you will study abroad.

Attention! If you apply for the Ministry's General Grant, you must prepare the Learning Agreement at the beginning of the academic year and send it to [email protected] so that we enroll you the rest of the mobility credits from secretary.

Other ways to take elective credits

  • Elective subjects from your degree curriculum.
  • Free-elective subjects. You can find all the information here

  • Summer courses at Barcelona International Summer School (BISS)

  • Maximum 6 RAC credits in all of the degree of activities or language learning: Language learning o University activities with credits recognition

What language level must be proved to apply for an exchange place?

When the student apply for an exchange place, he/she must prove the language knowledge of the country where the study stay will take place. Some universities set special requirements for accepting students: Check the agreements proposed in each course

How do you have to make the Learning agreement?

When the place has been allocated and before leaving, the student must make a Learning Agreement. It is formalized through Secretaria virtual, and it must be approved by the mobility coordinator and a copy must be send to [email protected]

How to formalize the Learning Agreement:

Instructions at the following link: https://www.upf.edu/web/biomed/formalitzacio-conveni-de-practiques-externes

For more information contact with: [email protected]

How can I know the host university subjects that I can validate?

Check that the mandatory subjects are approved (link HB and MED). If they aren't, you have to submit the course guide copy with your Learning agreement to process the validation.

How many credits do I have to enroll each term/semester?

It must be taken and passed the same number of credit of the academic period corresponding to the stay (minimum 15 ECTS per term/semester), respecting, in any case, what the each degree curriculum establishes. If this is not the case, the student must reimburse the finantial aid received.

At the FCSV the curriculum provides for 16 at the host university, which are computed as elective credits when the student finishes the stay.

For the medicine students enrolled in the 2020 curriculum (who start their studis in 2019-20 academic year), the curriculum provides 14 elective credits, but to have the Erasmus grant, at least 15 credits ECTS must be taken at the host university.

What can I do If I don't pass a subject at the host university?

All the subjects of the Learning Agreement will be included, the passed and the failed ones. A remedial exam is possible at the host university. It's not possible to repeat it at UPF in the same academic year.

How the subjects will be graded on the return (Erasmus and Bilateral Agreements)??

Send the grades to [email protected]. The grade will be turn into UPF system (1-10), according to table of equivalences between countries.

And If I have to do remedial exams of failed exams at UPF?

It is not provided the posibility to do final or remedial exams in alternative dates.

Mobility grade for Medicine clinical internship

The evaluation is divided into:

  • 70%: grade given by its tutor in the evaluation document (esp or ang). The student has to send this document to [email protected] when the mobility is over. The mobility coordinator reserves the right to request clarifications to the tutor if appropriate.

If the global grade given by the tutor is less than 5, the credits will not be recognised. Nevertheless, if the tutor communicates that the student has had a professional behavior clearly worse than what is required, or if the student has repeatedly missed (for any reason) the activities planned, the credits will not be recognised.

  • 30%: When the mobility is over, the student can present a report that will be taken into account in an interview. The interviewer will evaluate the knowledge and the experience acquired by the student, and they will take into account the formation quality of the institution where the internship took place.

In the internship report the student has to detail the tasks and landmarks achieved during the internship. The student will have to present the report to [email protected] no later than 30 days after the end of internship.

If the interview is not requested, the presentation of the report will not be necessary and the maximum possible grade will be 7.
