The 12th International Workshop on Theoretical and Experimental Macroeconomics
Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, June 6 – 7, 2022
Macroeconomic theories have traditionally been tested using non‐experimental data from the field. However, modern, micro‐based macroeconomic models can also be tested in the laboratory, which affords better causal inference, and researchers have begun to pursue such experimental tests. The purpose of the International Workshop on Theoretical and Experimental Macroeconomics is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas and promote greater interaction between macroeconomic researchers, behavioral/experimental economists and policy makers, with the aim of advancing macroeconomics in a direction that allows it to account for more of the real behavior of economic agents and economies with the help of relevant experimental evidence.
The keynote speakers for the 2022 workshop are:
- Cyril Monnet (Universität Bern) and
- Michael Bauer (Universität Hamburg).
The 12th workshop is jointly organized by the Technische Universität Berlin and the BES Lab (Behavioral and Experimental Sciences Lab, formerly BESLAB, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra). We invite researchers using behavioral, experimental and theoretical approaches addressing macroeconomic questions to submit a paper to this two-day conference.
The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2022. Submissions should include either a full paper or an extended abstract including the main results. Authors chosen to present papers will be notified by mid-March, 2022. The deadline for workshop registration is April 15, 2022.
To submit a paper, please follow the 2-step application procedure described in "How to apply". Participation without presenting a paper is possible.
In addition to the workshop, the organizers invite young researchers and graduate students to the 14th BESLab Experimental Economics Summer School in Macroeconomics held at Technische Universität Berlin from June 5 – 11, 2022. Summer school participants can also attend the workshop.
