Mary Norris is a former copy editor for The New Yorker and author of two best-selling books, Between You and Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen (W. W. Norton & Co., 2015) and Greek to Me: Adventures of the Comma Queen (W. W. Norton & Co., 2019), which has just been published in Spain by Larousse as Mi gran odisea griega: Las aventuras de «The Comma Queen» (2020). In recent years she has become known to writers and English language professionals around the world for her media presence, which includes a video series on English punctuation and usage and a TED talk that has been viewed by well over 1 million people.

In this conversation with Dr. Janet DeCesaris, she will reflect on her career in publishing and the general public’s interest in usage and language.
