Dr. Aina Labèrnia Romagosa was awarded the IEC Grammar Award POMPEU FABRA 2018 for her doctoral thesis The incidence of certain sociolinguistic factors in the implementation of sixteen syntactic variants in Catalan, the thesis of the PhD program on Translation and Language Sciences, directed by Professor Joan Costa Carrera. This work received the 2015 Extraordinary Doctorate Award. The IEC Grammar Award POMPEU FABRA is awarded to the best doctoral thesis or research work on phonetics, phonology, morphology or syntax of the Catalan language. The thesis can be consulted here.

She received the award on April 20 at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans Sant Jordi Awards 2018 ceremony.
