Paz Battaner is invested as a member of the Spanish Royal Academy

This past January 29th, Dr. Paz Battaner, noted lexicographer, retired professor of Spanish and retired researcher at the IULA, read her academic speech of acceptance upon being elected to occupy the "s" chair in the Spanish Royal Academy in Madrid. Her speech, entitled “Algunos pozos sin fondo en los diccionarios” ('Some bottomless pits in dictionaries') was answered in turn by Academy member Dr. Ignacio Bosque, who highlighted the fact that Dr. Battaner would participate in the preparation of the 24th edition of the Academy's dictionary.
