The philologist Joan Julià-Muné (1950-2020) passed away this last 7th of July. Lecturer at Univesitat de Lleida and professor at Laboratori de Fonètica Pere Barnils, Julià-Muné was an expert of toponymy and anthroponymy. 

Joan Julià-Muné participated in some activities developed by IULA (Institut de Lingüística Aplicada, UPF), such as the projects NADIC and NADIC2 offered by la Secció Filològica de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans. He had also taken part of Xarxa Neoxoc and he closed the Quarta Jornada de la Càtedra Pompeu Fabra with the speech entitled “Projecció de Pompeu Fabra a l’exterior”.
