CAT UPF: Viu la UPF en català
UPF wants to welcome all members of the PDI who do not speak Catalan and wants to help them to learn and experience the university in this language. To this end, the welcome programme CAT UPF offers free courses and activities each term that are specifically designed to accompany international and non Catalan-speakers PDI during their discovery of the Catalan language and culture.
CATCoffe is destined to PDI who have a beginner level of Catalan. It is meant as a social meeting point held once a month at each UPF Campus, in which PDI can have a coffee with their peers and a teacher while they talk about their adaptation at UPF in Catalan and how they have been incorporating the language in their classes or other contexts. It is the perfect complement for the PDI who have attended the Català inicial per al PDI Part I y Part II courses and for any PDI who is interested in learning Catalan.
Course details
- Type of course: face-to-face (each day at a different UPF Campus cafeteria)
- Objective: to create spaces where PDI can socialise in Catalan, outside of the classroom and other intstitutional activities, in order to gain some confidence in this language in a safe space and with a facilitator that will help them to improve.
- Facilitator: Elisenda Campmany, Idiomes UPF
- Duration: 3 hours (3 sessions)
- Calendar, schedule and place (attendace to the three sessions is recommended):
- 30 April from 9.30 a 10.30 am: Campus de la Ciutadella cafeteria
- 28 May de 9.30 a 10.30 am: Campus del Poblenou cafeteria
- 18 June de 9.30 a 10.30 am: Campus del Mar cafeteria
- UPF Certificate: on successful completion of the course, the participant will obtain a certificate containing the course details.
- Fee: Free for UPF Teaching and Research Staff (PDI)
- Number of participants in the course: minimum 10 / Maximum 25
