ES dimensión textual / CAT dimensió textual / FR dimension textuelle / DE Textdimension

In the analysis of discourse genres, the textual dimension examines the properties of semantic coherence and lexical and grammatical cohesion that are necessary for text unity. Therefore, this dimension takes into account how the information is selected and organized (parts, moves, etc.) so that the text progresses thematically, how the main referent or overall topic is maintained, which anaphoric elements are used for this purpose, and which connectors and discourse markers are used to link the discursive segments. The linguistic components (lexis and grammar) distinguished in this textual dimension are determined by the two other dimensions of genre analysis: the sociocultural dimension and the pragmatic dimension.
