During this phase of consolidating university teaching, the aim is to welcome new teachers to UPF; to look in greater depth into the activities of planning, developing teaching methodologies, group management, motivation and evaluation so that they are able to implement them in their subject through observation in the classroom. 

It is free of charge and is recognized with a certificate of aptitude eligible for submission in AQU and ANECA accreditation processes.
 

 

 80 o 170 hours - blended - in Catalan and Spanish - from October 24 2023 to June 30 2024 
Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, from 2 pm to 5 pm on the Ciutadella campus 

Recipients:

  • All teaching staff who have recently joined UPF or who have been teaching for less than three years.
  • Recommended for other teaching staff such as tenure-track, trainee research staff, researchers who teach, adjunct lecturers, predoctoral and postdoctoral students, etc. 

  A requirement for enrolling in this itinerary is to have teaching duties during the current academic year.

Aims:

  • To acquire and implement the knowledge, skills and basic attitudes linked to the teaching competences of university teaching staff within the educational framework of UPF, for the development of their teaching career.
  • To look in greater depth into planning activities, developing teaching methodologies and evaluation so that they are able to integrate them into their teaching and improve teaching quality.
  • To improve teaching based on the observation of the teaching itself and monitoring by a tutor, in order to reflect by identifying the weak and strong points of the actual practice of teaching. 
  • To become aware of the need for educational innovation in the university context. 
  • To carry out an innovative project with the guidance of a tutor.
  • To provide an environment in which to exchange experiences among colleagues from various disciplines at UPF.

Activities:

  • Classroom observation: recording one of the classes
  • Innovation project (individual work): optional
  • Preparation of an electronic portfolio: learning folder for reflection and evidence. Two submissions during the academic year
     

 The consolidation itinerary will be certified with 170 hours if the innovation project is done. If this activity is not done, it will be certified with 80 hours.

Evaluation:

  • Face-to-face sessions: attendance and participation in the classroom will be taken into account. Participants must attend at least 80% of the sessions.
  • Online sessions: the online questionnaires must be answered and passed after each topic.
  • Individual work: an individual assignment must be carried out, the sessions must be attended and the three personalized tutorials held during the academic year must be followed.
  • Filming of teaching: a feedback report must be submitted highlighting aspects for improvement.
  • Evaluation of the e-portfolio by a tutor and the submission of a feedback report as a final evaluation of the training programme.
