The Initial Training in University Teaching (FIDU Programme) provides basic training in teaching to the University teaching staff, in accordance with the educational paradigms established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). It includes teaching-related contents such as the filming of a class with specialized feedback from a tutor, an individual essay about teaching-related aspects and an electronic portfolio on class materials development. Teh programme is targeted at the following UPF members:

  • New UPF teaching staff who wish to improve their teaching strategies.
  • UPF teaching staff with a valid contract who have been teaching for more than two years and who wish to acquire new tools to improve their teaching quality.
  • UPF lecturers and researchers with a valid contract and are doing a postgraduate programme (master’s, doctorate) or who have earned their PhD in the last three years.

This year, the FIDU Programme took place in different modalities:

  • Blended-learning edition, in Catalan and Spanish. Offered in 2 tracks: Track A (170 hours) and Track B (80 hours). This year 11 participants passed this course.
  • Online edition, in English. This course is offered through Aula Global, with a total duration of 25 hours. 16 participants passed this course during this academic year.

At the end of the course, all FIDU students obtained their completion certificates in a ceremony followed by the UPF Art Track, a guided tour that took them through the Tàpies Room and the Dipòsit de les Aigües Library.
