What is Nearpod?

Nearpod is an educational platform that generates collaborative and interactive online learning experiences. Through so-called "lessons", teachers can create and share presentations, activities, questions and surveys. They can project them in class and evaluate students in real time.

The Nearpod tool has won numerous awards both for its attractiveness and user-friendliness. It is used in many international educational centres for students of all ages.

How does it work?

With Nearpod teachers can develop several resources (tasks, games, interactive presentations, etc.) and project them in the classroom. Students, at the same time, can visualize the resources created through a laptop, tablet or mobile and interact with them by sending answers, selecting options, asking questions, etc.

The content of "lessons" may include text, PDFs, videos, audio, images, 3D objects and Twitter accounts. Nearpod also allows you to upload a previously created PowerPoint presentation and make it more interactive.

Once the class has finished, teachers can download student performance reports and identify successful and unsuccessful topics.

Nearpod at UPF

UPF has acquired 20 Nearpod licenses for teachers who wish to use this tool in their classes. If you wish to acquire a Nearpod licence, you can apply for it through this online form.

If you wish to know more about how to use Nearpod you can address the staff in any of the UPF’s libraries, La Factoria+ and the CLIK. Please note that CLIK will offer a free Nearpod course in their Continuing Education Programme during the third term.
