Problem-Based Learning in the Pick Up Idees 6 meeting
On June 9 the Pick Up Idees 6 meeting took place at the UPF Barcelona School of Management
Every year a Catalan university organizes the Pick Up Idees meeting, an annual workshop on pedagogical methodologies that brings together pedagogical specialists from the field of education to discuss teaching innovation.
This year the meeting focused on Problem Based Learning (PBL), an innovative pedagogical methodology that makes students the protagonists of their own learning. Through this method -not an instructional strategy-, knowledge acquisition becomes as important as the acquisition of skills and attitudes.
This year’s speakers were Manel Jiménez, academic director of the Center for Learning Innovation and Knowledge (CLIK) of Pompeu Fabra University; Josep-Eladi Baños, Professor of Pharmacology at Pompeu Fabra University; Toni Font, Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Barcelona; Maria Cònsul, Vicedean of Academic Affairs (Teaching, Quality and Evaluation) of the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Mar Carrió, coordinator of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training in Secondary Education in Natural Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University; Òscar Elvira, co-director of the Master in Banking and Finance and the Financial Advisory Diploma of the UPF Barcelona School of Management; Guillermo Javier Pérez, professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Girona; and Noemi Ruiz, coordinator of the Degree of Business and Innovation Management in the School of Social and Business Sciences -Tecnocampus.
The experts shared their experiences, challenges and results on the application of Problem-Based Learning methodology in different disciplines and subjects.
The Pick Up Idees 6 meeting, coordinated by the CLIK, was held at the UPF Barcelona School of Management.
