Great feedback from the Max Weber Teaching Programme at the UPF

07.06.2019

Once again, eight international researchers from the European University Institute (EUI) came to the UPF, as part of the Max Weber Programme. This year´s edition took place from the 20th to the 24th of May on the Ciutadella campus and began with a Welcome Day to greet all the fellows, to explain how the programme works to them, to introduce them to the UPF tutors and to give them some practical information about their time at the university.

The fellows, Bernardo Rangoni, Aydin Baris Yildirim, Anna Tzanaki, Athina Sachoulidou, Alessandro Spinganti, Grace Ballor, Alessandro Bonvini and Benoit Maréchaux, came from different nationalities and knowledge areas and had the support of a UPF tutor specialised in their discipline. The participating teachers from the field of economics were Fernando Guirao and Humberto Llavador, from the field of law the teachers were Mariona Llobet and Antoni Rubí, in the field of politics the students were tutored by Professor Andrea Noferini and in the field of humanities Daniele Cozzoli was the participating tutor. Other teachers from the department also participated in this Teaching Practice Week.

Amongst the different activities carried out during the week, the highlights included the teaching of undergraduate and master’s degree classes, the meeting of academic staff from the corresponding departments, a feedback session given by the tutors to the fellows and also a linguistic and methodological advice session given by an expert trainer in English Medium Instruction.

The feedback given by the fellows confirm that this has been a very satisfactory experience and if they were to repeat it, they would do so at the UPF.
