CiSAL-UPF has participated in the IX Summer Course of OSALAN-Basque Institute of Occupational Safety and Health on July 11, 2019 in Donostia, with the paper "Work, age and health, new and old evidence" given by Dr. Fernando G. Benavides, senior researcher at our center.

Donostia-San Sebastián, July 11, 2019.- The Minister of Labor and Justice, Mª Jesús San José, inaugurated the IX Summer Course of the UPV / EHU in the Miramar Palace, organized by Osalan -which was attended by 130 participants- and that, in this edition, addressed the challenges presented by the aging of the working population for the prevention of occupational risks.

Manage the aging of the working population to ensure a sustainable work life. Throughout the two days of the Course, new evidences about work, age and health were addressed; the challenges and opportunities offered by the aging of the active population; the myths and economic challenges of this global phenomenon; the evolution of functional and neurosensory capacities was described; there was talk of measures to promote healthy aging at work; of ergonomics; of health surveillance; and of the next demographic challenges with projection in the prevention of labor risks, among other topics.

At the opening of the Course, Txelo Ruiz, Vice President of Students and Igor Álvarez, Deputy Director of Summer Courses, part of the UPV / EHU and Javier Inda, Director of the Course and Head of the Territorial Center of Bizkaia of OSALAN also took part. The closure, on the 12th, was the responsibility of the Deputy Minister of Labor, Jon Azkue.
