The Ideograma - UPF Chair publishes a collaborative eBook on communication management for COVID-19
The Coronavirus has fully impacted on our lives globally and transversally. The different governments of the world face one of the most important crises we have experienced.
At this time marked by uncertainty and fear, it's essential that government communication is clear and offers guidance to its citizens. In postmodern societies factors such as fake news, infodemics and acceleration are obstacles that governments must face by adapting their communication strategies.
From the ideograma - UPF Chair we have brought together multiple professionals from the political communication sector -María José Canel, Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí, Carles Pont, Xavier Peytibi or Verónica Fumanal, among others - to reflect on the main challenges it poses the Covid-19.
Among the chapters of Political communication in times of coronavirus you can find guides for optimal institutional communication; analysis of government crisis management models and study of the strategies promoted by some of the main world leaders -reviewing the cases of Italy, the United Kingdom or the African continent-; the effects that confinement has had on the change of habits of consumption of mass media and social networks, the use of new technologies in the fight against the pandemic and the challenges that, in an uncertain and inscrutable future, this situation holds for the governments of tomorrow.
Political communication in times of coronavirus is a choral and multifocal work that exposes and analyzes, in the key of political communication, the main errors, successes and challenges that have led to the emergence of Covid-19. Its transversality makes it a very complete work that allows us to understand what are the future challenges that this crisis has in store for us.
