UPF offers you the possibiity of carrying out an academic stay at a foreign university through the Erasmus exchange programs (europeen universities) and Bilateral Agreements (universities in the rest of the world). Also in Spain universities through SICUE programs.

16 ECTS must be taken at the host university which are calculated as elective credits when the student stay has finished. From these 16 credits, 10 must be related health science subjects.

If it is a two-term stay (second and third term), the second term compulsary subjects must be taken. At the return, they will be recognized for the UPF curriculum subjects, plus the elective credits corresponding to the third term of mobility.

In order to apply for a place at a foreign university, there must be an agreement between the Faculty of Health and Life Science (UPF) and the host university, which may be:

Applications and place allocations for mobility programs take place during the year before of the stay. The places are given priorizing the average grade of the academic record. You can check the established requirements in the following link. For more information about international mobility and the place allocations, contact with OMA (Mobility and Welcome Office).

To apply for an exchange mobility place, the student have to prove its knowledge of the language of the country where the study stay takes place. From Servei d'Idiomes UPF (UPF Language Office) test are often scheduled to acredit the level.

Some universities set special requirements for accepting students (for example, TOEFL language certificate or minimum transcript grades. In the american universities case, for example, they require a C1 English level).

Mobility and Welcome Office (OMA) will guide with the next steps to follow to carry out the necessary procedures to formalize your condition of exchange student. Follow the instructions in the OMA website until the return.

The procedures that you have to do with the faculty are:

1. Schedule the stay: Remember that the procedures must be started during the year before the stay and it is important to keep in mind that there are universities that structures their academic year in semesters, so you have to take it into account when you choose the subjects to enroll.

When it is verified that exists an agreement between the UPF and the university of your interest, you must contact with FCSV Exchange Coordinator to examine the program of the subjects to enroll.

Here there are examples of Learning Agreements with different host universities. The Learning Agreement is the document where it has to be specified which subjects are taken at the host university and for which subjects will be recognized at UPF. These examples are indicative: there may be other possibilities, or some subjects may no longer be available.

2. Make the Learning Agreement: When a mobility place has been allocated and before leaving, students must complete the Learning Agreement. It is formalized through Secretaria virtual and it has to be approved by the Mobility Coordinator. You must send a PDF signed copy of the Learning Agreement to [email protected].

3. Subjects validation: If the stay includes the second term and compulsary subjects are taken, it must be verified that the recognitions are validated:

Human Biology validated subjects

Medicine validated subjects

If the subject you wanto to do is not in the list, you will have to ask for an assessment. If the Teaching Plan of the host university has a 80% coincidence with the Teaching PLAN from your curriculum, you will have to attach the subject program wth the Learning Agreement to request the validation.

 

During the first four weeks of the exchange program you will have to send to UPF secretary a PDF copy of the Learning Agreement confirmation. Access to Secretaria Virtual and print the host university Agreement. It is essential that the host university signs and stamps it and it has to be also signed by the student and de mobility coordinator. This document is binding for the exchange extension enrollment and the qualifications.

Send the qualifications certificate to secretaria. The grade is became to UPF system (1 - 10) according to equivalences tables between countries and it is included to academic record.
