“Cíclic: Solargraphies on Campus”

Description

“Cíclic: Solargraphies on Campus” proposes an alternative approach to contemporary photography, distancing itself from digital acceleration and exploring the space–time relationship through solargraphy. This process—based on long exposures that may last from days to months—captures the passage of time and the movement of the sun across everyday spaces on the different university campuses of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, as well as the Tibidabo Amusement Park, the Joan Miró Foundation, and other personal spaces.

This approach not only offers a distinctive visual representation, but also encourages reflection on the connections between physical space, time, and our perception of reality. The exhibition emerges from a shared pedagogical process developed with students over two years, from image capture to final display, enriching their learning experience and sustaining their relationship with the university beyond graduation.

For the first time since exhibitions have been held at the Àrea Tallers Gallery, a catalogue has been published in connection with the exhibition and the associated research and teaching innovation project, available in both digital and print formats (consultable at the Library/CRAI of the Poblenou and Ciutadella campuses).
