Cerdà Mollà, Francesca

Francesca Cerdà Mollà holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (2016) from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), a Master’s degree in Translation Studies (2017) from the same university, and a Master’s degree in Teaching Catalan as First and Second Language from Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2019). She is currently a PhD candidate in the Translation and Language Sciences programme of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she teaches subjects related to reflection on translation, translation from English into Catalan, and translation between Catalan and Spanish. She is an FPU scholarship holder —a training programme for academic staff provided by the Government of Spain-Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Her research interests are focused on the study of literary translation into Catalan during the 20th century, especially from a Valencian perspective. Her PhD thesis, advised by Dr. Marcel Ortín and Dr. Enric Gallén, is focused on Joan Fuster’s thought on translation and his role as a translator into Catalan.

She studied at the National University of Ireland Maynooth during three months as an Erasmus student (2013) and has made a research stay at the Centre d’Études Catalanes of the Sorbonne Université – Paris IV (2019).
