The Department of Political and Social Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra has reached an agreement to organise the ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research) General Conference in 2027. Scheduled to take place from September 7-10, 2027, this marks a historic milestone for the department and university, as it will be the very first time hosting this flagship international event.

Bringing together thousands of scholars from across the globe, the ECPR General Conference is the largest annual gathering of political scientists in Europe, within the framework of which they present their latest research and debate political science on a global scale. Hosting this event reflects the department’s growing international reputation and its role as a leading hub for cutting-edge research. In this sense, the Department of Political and Social Sciences at UPF has recently obtained the María de Maeztu recognition as a unit of excellence, and its role as a leading center in cutting-edge research.

The conference offers a unique platform for the UPF academic community to showcase its work, foster global collaborations, and lead the conversation on the most pressing political and social challenges of our time. The team behind it will be a collaboration of academic faculty, research assistants and administrative personnel.
