On April 27, 2026, Universitat Pompeu Fabra will host a special screening of La Hija del NO (2025), directed by Silvina Hermosa, followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.

The documentary revisits the landmark socio-environmental mobilization that took place in Esquel, Argentina, in 2003, when a local plebiscite led the community to overwhelmingly reject an open-pit mining project. Through an intimate and politically engaged narrative, the film connects personal stories with broader debates on environmental justice, extractivism, and democratic participation.

The session will offer a space for reflection on key issues such as socio-environmental resistance, collective memory, and the role of civic engagement in shaping sustainable futures.
