Risk prevention and work safety

The Office for Occupational Hazards Prevention (OPRL) provides individual and collective support to staff in relation to the prevention of occupational hazards in the workplace.

The main functions of prevention carried out and for which it provides support and advice are:

  • The management and coordination of action plans and programmes in the field of occupational hazards prevention for public employees; especially the Occupational Hazards Prevention Plan, which allows integrating prevention in the general management of the University.
  • The assessment of risk factors that may affect employees’ safety and health, in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Planning preventive activities, establishing priorities and monitoring their effectiveness.
  • The management of employee health surveillance in relation to the risks arising from their work. In this regard, among other activities, is the medical examinations programme.
  • The management of information and the planning of staff training in the field of occupational hazards prevention, according to the nature of the risks identified in the workplace and the measures to address them.
  • Implementing the necessary actions in the event of first aid and emergency due to work activities.
