On December 15th, 2020, EuroMedMig in collaboration with Acsar Foundation, a Catalan Foundation working on Refugees, held a webinar entitled: Is the new EU Pact a change of paradigm for Mediterranean Migration Governance?

This webinar addressed the European Commission’s newly released Pact on Migration and Asylum, with the aim to answer the following questions:

• What are the impacts on the current Mediterranean Migration Governance?
• Is the new Pact strengthening the current scenario in the Mediterranean or is it a factor that will, in the short term, change the Geo-politics of Mediterranean migration?
• From a multilevel perspective: how can this new Pact be interpreted by sub-state levels of governance: mainly at the regional and local level?
