Call for Papers: 2026 IMISCOE Forum — Promoting Afro-European Mediterranean Dialogue: Shifting Geographies of Migration

23.12.2025

EuroMedMig is pleased to share the Call for Proposals for the upcoming 2026 IMISCOE Forum, titled Promoting Afro-European Mediterranean Dialogue: Shifting Geographies of Migration. This new event will take place on 28–30 October 2026 at the Faculty of Languages, Arts and Human Sciences, Ibn Zohr University (Agadir, Morocco) and online

The 2026 IMISCOE Forum aims to foster stronger scholarly connections between migration researchers across Africa and Europe, building an inclusive, regionally grounded research agenda on migration. Rather than seeing the Mediterranean as a divide, the Forum considers it a bridge for intellectual exchange, collaborative knowledge production, and shared inquiry into contemporary mobilities

Organised by the Faculty of Languages, Arts and Human Sciences — Ibn Zohr University and GRITIM-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, with the support of EuroMedMig, the Forum welcomes paper and workshop proposals that address the complexities of Afro-European migration across themes such as geopolitics, human rights, law and governance, climate justice, mobilisation corridors, socioeconomic transformations, and decolonial approaches. imiscoe.org
