Would you like to know what USQUID did during 2016?

27.01.2017

The USQUID of the Engineering School (UPF) wants to share with you a summary of the most relevant activities and actions carried out throughout 2016. Remember that the USQUID focuses its work on improving the quality of teaching and also the promoting and supporting actions of innovation proposed by the centre's teachers and the USQUID itself as well. The Unit is formed by Davinia Hernández-Leo (Director) and Verónica Moreno Oliver (Pedagogue), and students in practice giving technical support both from the ICT and pedagogical perspectives.

Accessing into the USQUID website, specifically to resources for teachers, you will find the resources generated to support teaching (methodologies, training, guidelines and tools for monitoring and assessment, etc.). In this same section you will also find the link to the 2016 Morning Symposium on Teaching Innovation and Quality at ESUP-DTIC.

You will also find a section dedicated to students under the heading "resources for students". This section contains different audiovisual and materials resources, documentation, etc. aimed at supporting and promoting learning and self-learning in different areas, there is also information about UPF HackLab and orientations/guides based on transversal skills such as oral communication, teamwork, etc.

On the publications section you will find the details of the different USQUID’s contributions in journals, and conferences. This year we want to highlight the paper entitled "Analysis of the use and impact of English in the teaching - learning Engineering UPF", presented by Verónica Moreno Oliver at CIDUI 2016 and which has reached nearly 200 visits in six months (see publication and statistics here). Davinia Hernández-Leo was also in charge of facilitating a session in the 2016 REDU Symposium on Final Degree Projects/ Master Theses and in the 2016 CIDUI monographic session on MOOCs.

As for the projects carried out by the USQUID during 2016, it is worth mentioning an  analysis carried out on the relationship between Engineering School and ICT Department and the Industry (news-summary here) and a study on gender aspects (news-summary here). The projects in which the USQUID is involved in the current academic year 2016-27, include a project of mentoring for women in tech (MENTOS), a project around the incorporation of the gender perspective in teaching and a project about learning beyond the classroom and the curriculum.

During 2016 the USQUID website had approximately 68,874 pages visited. As previous years, the most visited pages are those that contain teaching methodological strategies.
