Dr. Patricia Santos

Director

Patricia Santos is a Ramón y Cajal fellow at UPF,  a senior researcher and project manager of TIDE, and responsible for innovation of the UPF Engineering School.
In 2011 she obtained her PhD in Information and Communication Technologies with an Excellent Summa Cum Laude (Best Phd Thesis Award – Potential for transference, UPF Board of Trustees).  From 2013 to 2016 she was a full-time post-doc researcher, at the University of the West of England (UK). Since 2017 she has been a member of the TIDE research group at UPF.
Throughout her professional career, the quality and innovativeness of her work has been recognized with many awards and publications. She has consistently positioned her research in the field of Technology-Enhanced Learning with a focus on Human Computer Interaction and Learning Design. Dr. Verónica Moreno Oliver

Pedagogue

Verónica Moreno Oliver, pedagogue at Teaching Quality and Innovation Support Unit ESUP/DTIC at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and associate member of the government team at Engineering and ICT School. The main tasks developed are related with the design, development and assessment of actions, projects and studies focused on teaching innovation and training quality...and teams and staff management: USQUID members, UPF's HackLab, etc. She is also a part time teacher at Engineering School and ICT Department; her lessons in engineering degrees are related with soft/transversal skills such as oral communication and writing, team-work, learning styles and problem-solving. Carolina Ángel Idrobo

Intern

Carolina Ángel Idrobo is a journalist and producer of digital content and educommunicative tools, such as the transmedia platform Amorfiesta and its collective creation laboratories, created to raise awareness among citizens and create participatory and democratic networks. She is currently studying the Master in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media at the Pompeu Fabra University and joins the Innovation Area to support tasks related to educational innovation and project communication. Keysha Urgel Cantalejo

Intern

Keysha Urgel Cantalejo is a third year student of Biomedical Engineering at Pompeu Fabra University. With a great passion for science, technology, the human body and the possibility of uniting these three elements to help the maximum number of people. Always willing to learn and share new ideas. It begins to be part of the Innovation Area of Engineering School and ICT Department of the UPF, participating in carrying out teaching innovation tasks in the use of technical spaces and AI resources.

Aketza Martín Román

Intern

Aketza Martín Román is in his third year of Journalism Degree at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. His main motivation towards journalism comes from his desire to help people understand the world and help them make their own decisions. He will be involved in collecting and analysing data used in different studies at Engineering School and ICT Department Innovation Area.

Dr. Davinia Hernández-Leo

Director from 2009 to 2021

Davinia Hernández-Leo is a Full Professor and ICREA Academia Fellow in the Information and Communications Technologies Department (DTIC) of UPF.  She is coordinator of TIDE, Vice-Principal for Teaching of the UPF Engineering School and Director of its Unit for Teaching Quality & Innovation. Previously, Davinia was a member of the GSIC/EMIC multidisciplinary group of the University of Valladolid where she received M.S. and PhD degrees in telecommunications engineering. She was a visiting Pre-doctoral Research Fellow at the Educational Technology Centre of OUNL (2006), a Fulbright Scholar at Virginia Tech (2012) and a Visiting Academic at The University of Sydney (2015). She has a long record of participation in learning technologies and engineering education research and practice projects. She has published extensively and her work has been honoured with several awards, is currently Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies and Vice-President of the European Association in Technology-Enhanced Learning. Amaia Rodríguez

Amaia Rodríguez is graduated in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country, she is currently doing a master's degree in Cognitive Science and Interactive Media at Pompeu Fabra University. She is now joining the Innovation and Teaching Quality Team to give support on several tasks such as data collection and anlysis processes, developing simple collection instruments, reports and dissemination documents.

Usoa Zabaco Aledo

Usoa Zabaco Aledo is graduated in Pedagogy and she is currently doing a master's degree in Psychopedagogy at the International University of La Rioja. She is joining the Innovation and Teaching Quality Team to give support on several tasks such as data collection and analysis processes, teaching innovation projects and reports elaboration.

Juan Carrillo del Saz

Juan holds a BA+MA in Architecture (UPV), a BA in Translation and Interpreting (UPF) and a MA in Translation Studies (UPF). He is a researcher and a translator specialized in technical and literary texts. He joins the Innovation and Teaching Quality Unit to carry out editing, translation and linguistic advice tasks.

Aitana González Cárdenas

Aitana González Cárdenas is a student of Mathematical Engineering in Data Science at Pompeu Fabra University. She is currently in third grade. She is fond of numbers and technology. She joins the Innovation and Teaching Quality Area as an intern student to participate in different initiatives.

Arnau Adan i Solà

Arnau Adan i Solà is in the last year of Audiovisual Systems Engineering at the University of Pompeu Fabra. He joined to the Innovation Space and Teaching Quality as an intern member to participate in different parts of an innovation teaching project of Engineering School and ICT Department.

Saida López Crespo

Saida López Crespo is a Pedagogue and PhD in Education. Her lines of research focus on teacher learning and professional development. She joins the Innovation and Teaching Quality Team to carry out support tasks and workshops on innovation and teaching quality.

Grisdania Sánchez Gómez

Grisdania Sánchez Gómez is a student of the Master's Degree in Educational Management belonging to the National Quality Postgraduate Program by CONACYT. Graduated from the Bachelor of Science in Education from the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco. Author of the book: The reality of women researchers in Mexico and Colombia Is there gender equality in scientific work? Member of the State Register of Researchers of the State of Tabasco (2019-2021) and of the State System of Researchers of the same state (2019-2020). She joined the USQUID as a visiting student to carry out support tasks focused on the processes of teaching evaluation of the Engineering School and ICT Department.

Josep Ferrer Sánchez

Josep Ferrer is a Physics Engineer by UPC. Currently he is enrolled in the Master of Interactive Intelligent Systems in the UPF. He joins the Innovation Team (USQUID) to carry out support tasks in different projects.

Helena Martínez Sánchez

Helena Martínez Sánchez is currently studying last year of Telecommunications Network Engineering at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She is joining the USQUID-ESUP to carry out support tasks in different projects about the improvement of the teaching quality.

Melanie Torres Bisbal is a of student of two degrees which means that she is studying both a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences. She forms part of the USQUID carrying out supporting tasks as much on the web as in the project linked to the creation of educational videos and academic support.

Eduard Martín

He is part of the first graduating class in Pedagogy from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2009-2013). His Final Project is entitled "Down Syndrome and Learning Rhythms". His tasks in USQUID-ESUP are focused on giving educational support at different levels, depending on the needs.

Vicenç Gascó Castrillo is studying Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He regularly participates in software and web development projects as freelance collaborator. Laia Albó

Laia Albo is a student of Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering at Pompeu Fabra University. Currently, she is in her fourth year and she is developing her final project of Grade "Interactive Game to help children with autism to learn basic social skills." She joined USQUID to support the project linked in creating educational films and academic support (both for teachers and students) of the Introduction to ICT course.

Sara Cañas

She is part of the first graduating class in Applied Languages bachelor’s degree offered by Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2009-2013). She is especially interested in linguistics and her Grade Final Project is entitled “El movimiento de los elementos interrogativos en catalán y en LSC”. She has joined USQUID to offer language support (translation and proofreading).

Irene Camps

With an undergraduate degree in Pedagogy from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2008-2012) and studying aPostgraduate in Human Resources Direction Irene Camps is now working as a human resources assisstant in a temporarywork agency. She did her undergraduate internship at the USQUID-ESUP in 2010-2012 where she continued with a fellowship in 2012-2013.

Alba Magallón Baro

Alba Magallón Baro is a student of Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering at Pompeu Fabra University. She participates as an intern to support tasks such as preparing broadcast material USQUID-ESUP unit and as an assistant to record teaching materials for the unit.

Mara Balestrini

Mara Balestrini is a member of the Interactive Technologies Group (GTI), where she researches on HCI and Computing Supported Collaborative Learning. She holds a bachelors degree in Audiovisual Communications, a postgraduate degree in Media Arts and a MSc in Cognitive systems and Interactive media (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). She has worked as a digital and video journalist, has been a university lecturer and a media-artist. She's a strategic planner at Ideas for Change and a new media adviser at CCCB Lab.

Fidel Montesino Puértolas

A student of Superior Engineering specializing in Computer Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He has worked for two and a half years as a PHP programmer in a company dedicated to the Web. He is joining USQUID in order to lend support in the design of the Unit’s webpage.

Liana Egiazarian

Liana Egiazarian holds undergraduate degrees in Translation and Interpretation (2004-2008) and in Linguistics and New Technologies (2006-2008) from UPF. She received a grant in order to collaborate, in the same institution, in a project of educational innovation (2006-2007). She is currently earning her Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language at the UB, from where she also received a Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (CAP). She has registered for the current academic year in a doctorate programme offered by the UPF in "Linguistic Communication and Multilingual Mediation". She joins the USQUID lending support in the translation of the Unit’s webpage.

Rebecca Lara

Rebecca holds an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Spanish Philology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is a graduate student at the UPF earning her Master’s degree in Linguistics, specializing in Language Learning, and preparing her thesis on the acquisition of second language phonology. Silvia Giménez Domínguez

Silvia Giménez Domínguez holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering in Computer Systems from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
