Study fifth Graduate class in ICT Engineering @ UPF

The Engineering@UPF Teaching Quality and Innovation Support Unit completed a study about the Fifth Graduate class in ICT Engineering: Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering, Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences and Bachelor's degree in Telematics Engineering: class of 2013-2017 (here the study about the first graduate class, here about the second, here about the third and here about the fourth).

The study covered three aspects: academic, personal, and professional/plans for the future. 53% of ICT Degrees students took part in the study; 29,8% (GEI), 46,8% de (GESA) and 23,4% (GET).

From the results it can be seen that, among several activities/resources available during their training at ESUP/DTIC, the fact of having taken courses in English (4,62/5) and the resources offered by the Poblenou Campus for a good development of their studies (4,21/5).

Among the general competences that participants perceive as the most integrates and assumed, the ones that stand out are: working in teams (4,34/5), competences related with professional ethic (4,11/5) and critical and self-critical capacity (4,09/5).

The 78,8% of the participants was working at the end of 2017 and in all cases they were ICT Engineering-related jobs (46,7% related with programming). Regarding their professional situation in two years times, the 72,3% see themselves working working in a private company, percentage that is increasing year by year. In the first edition of this study the percentage of students that see themselves working in a private company was 54%,  in the second 48%, 57% in the third and 51% in the fourth.
