The department holds an annual Research Forum consisting of talks or seminars given by external renowned academics and also invited UPF lecturers and researchers. The speakers use the forum to discuss innovative lines of research and theoretical inquiry, report on particular projects and research results, and discuss the application of new methodologies to specific fields.

The main goals of the Research Forum are to:
  1. Foster a fruitful dialogue and exchange of ideas among those attending the talks.
  2. Contribute to the academic training and socialization of our PhD and Master students.
  3. Invigorate the internal climate and culture of the department
  4. Strengthen the academic reputation of UPF-DCPIS internationally.
Research Forum talks take place on Thursdays 12-1.30 PM (room 40.035, Sala de Graus A. Calsamiglia, Ciutadella Campus) and are open to all DCPIS members and beyond (online registration to the talks is required for all attendees). A light lunch will be served for speakers and attendees when the operating procedure guidelines of the university allow to do so.

The confirmed lineup for the 2021-2022 academic year includes the following 8 speakers:
