Students of the master's degree programme must take a total of 90 ECTS credits over two academic years: 60 the first year and 30 the second.

The programme consists of 50 compulsory ECTS credits, 30 optional ECTS credits and a master's degree final project worth 10 ECTS credits.

All compulsory credits must be taken during the first year. That year, students must also take 10 ECTS credits of Chinese language subjects choosing the two most suitable optional subjects according to their level. No prior knowledge of Chinese is required to enrol on the master's degree programme. The subjects focusing on Chinese for academic purposes require no prior knowledge of the language. The subjects focusing on Chinese for professional purposes are aimed at pupils with a minimum level of HSK3 or similar.

In the second year of the master's degree programme, students must take the optional credits and do their master's degree final project. During the second year, pupils may participate in an educational exchange at an Asian university to earn 15 optional ECTS credits for the master's degree programme. These credits will be recognized as programme subjects, whether within the framework of an exchange programme arranged by the University or through a scholarship or the student's own arrangements.

Throughout the master's degree programme, students may likewise complete internships at companies, institutions or organizations.
