The Universitat Pompeu Fabra offers the Barcelona International Summer School (BISS) as a flagship program to advance the curriculum of both domestic and international undergraduate students during the summer term.  In 2023, twenty-two courses will be offered in campus.

Courses are credit-bearing (ECTS) and can be taken in English, Spanish or Catalan, in and international classroom environment. They are structured in modules of different duration and intensity, which can be flexibly combined in periods ranging from one to four weeks.

The BISS offers advanced training by building on UPF academic strengths, engaging leading faculty members to feature and share their current research with participating students.

Subjects have been conceived as an invitation to think and learn beyond and across disciplines, while approaching social and scientific challenges from content, methodological and practical perspectives.

The BISS is one of the UPF Cross-disciplinary programmes.

Duration/credits: 4-week courses are worth 6 ECTS, 2-week courses are worth 4 ECTS and 1 week courses are worth 2 ECTS. Students may register in single courses or combine more than one course.

Fees: For UPF students, the import of each course is the same price per credit as in their study plans. The import of courses for non-UPF students can be checked at the BISS website.
