In recent years, studies that analyze job insecurity as a social determinant of health have increased, but there are still many gaps in the literature: What are the mechanisms by which job insecurity affects health? How does job insecurity affect families and communities? How does having a precarious career path affect health? What new research methods must we apply to include new forms of work in studies? In the group “The New World of Work” of the Occupational Medicine Unit of the Karolinska Institute we are working to answer all these questions. The session will address all these topics and present preliminary results of studies that are being carried out.
