Monday, March 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. the scientific session of Occupational Health "Indicators of Health and work of Barcelona, Year 2017" will be held. The session will be carried out by Imma Cortès: Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Master's in Public Health and in Occupational Risk Prevention. He is currently Head of the Labor Health Service of the Public Health Agency of Barcelona, responsible for the Occupational Health Unit of Barcelona and associate professor at the Johns Hopkins University and Mª Marta Arcas: Medical Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health and in Family and Community Medicine, Master's in Public Health. Currently, he works as a superior technician at the Labor Health Service of the Public Health Agency of Barcelona and the Labor Health Unit of Barcelona.

Summary: The Barcelona Public Health Agency (ASPB) monitors the employment and health conditions of the people working in the city. A "Health and Work Indicator Report" has been published since 2009 with key data on remunerated work that includes the characteristics of the working population and the general sociodemographic structure, employment conditions, health status of These people and the resources for prevention. In the last published report, with data from 2017, the conceptual framework of the relationship between work and health and the well-being of people is presented first, as well as the generation of inequalities in health and well-being related to the job. In accordance with this conceptual framework, the report incorporates, for the first time, remunerated work, data on the unpaid care and domestic work organized in three sections: general sociodemographic characteristics of the population, dedication to the care of people and to Home jobs and health status.
