First international publication about the experience of the Occupational Pathology Unit of the Parc de Salut Mar / CiSAL UPF-IMIM, in the journal Medicine of Lavoro.
The Occupational Pathology Unit of the Parc de Salut Mar/CiSAL UPF-IMIM, created in 2010 was the first hospital unit of Occupational Pathology in all Spain, is directed by Dr. Consol Serra, occupational physician, head of the Occupational Health Service from the Parc de Salut Mar Consortium and director of CiSAL-UPF.
The Labor Pathology Unit aims to confirm cases of suspected occupational disease (PD) among hospital patients and assist them in the process of confirming PE. In this way, on the one hand, patients will be able to receive the compensation that corresponds to them when they have quoted the insurance, on the other they use an important element to improve prevention, and finally contribute to balance the costs that correspond to the two public health systems: National Health Service and Social Security System.
