Mònica Ubalde, postdoctoral researcher of CISAL-UPF, participated as a substitute member of the Management Committee of Spain, and as a member of the working groups 1-Inventory of cohorts and 3-Development of standardized protocols for the future collection of information related to labor expositions and health indicators.

The general objective of OMEGA-NET (http://omeganetcohorts.eu ) is to create a network to optimize the use of occupational, industrial and population cohorts at a European level. OMEGA-NET will promote: 1) the collaboration of existing cohorts, with extensive existing information on employment and occupational exposures, 2) the coordination and harmonization of occupational exposure assessment efforts, 3) the facilitation of an integrated research strategy for occupational health in Europe. The work will provide the foundations to improve the existing evidence for the identification of risks and health benefits related to occupation and employment, as well as to promote safe and healthy preventive strategies and policies.
