Meeting of the INTEVAL-Plus project (Cluster-randomized controlled trial of a multicomponent workplace intervention to improve musculoskeletal health in hospital workers (INTEVAL-Plus)., Tuesday 12 December at the Campus Mar of the University Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona.

At this meeting, the INTEVAL-Plus project funded by the FIS is started and in which 5 Hospitals of Catalonia participate. The general objective of this study, led by José M. Ramada (PSMar / CiSAL), is to assess the health and economic impact of an intervention with three components for the prevention of TOM in health workers. The intervention includes collective and individual actions in four levels: a) primary prevention (participatory ergonomics), b) secondary prevention (early detection and case management), c) tertiary prevention (return to precocious and safe work) id) promotion of health (physical activity, healthy eating, stress management and health belief education) to reduce TOMs in workers. To evaluate the impact of this intervention, a randomized controlled trial by clusters with a late intervention control group will be carried out. The clusters will be independent work units of the five health centers of the participating National Health System.
