The fourteen students of the first class of the Master of Multidisciplinary Research in Experimental Sciences (MRES) presented their work during the poster session of the BIST Symposium on Microscopy, Nanoscopy and Imaging Sciences.

In this symposium, more than 200 members of the UPF and BIST (Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology) community met to know the new advances in microscopy. The event, organized by the BIST, took place on February 9 at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO).

The MRES is a joint master between DCEXS-UPF and BIST to provide to the most outstanding students the skills to develop a successful scientific career. As part of their training, students conduct research projects at the DCEXS-UPF or at the BIST scientific institutions, where they have the opportunity to learn from distinguished local and international researchers.

The BIST is an initiative of seven research centers in Catalonia to increase their collaboration level and build a joint research project. All the BIST centers, like the DCEXS-UPF, have obtained the "Severo Ochoa´s Distinction for Scientific Excellence".
