Admission Requirements
- You are currently enrolled as a Junior (3rd year), Senior (4th year), or have Junior Standing (having completed 60 to 90 credits) at a university or college of education.
- You meet a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, a score of 7 out of 10 in the UPF grading system, or a grade equivalent to a B+ or higher.
- Proficiency in the language of instruction is required, both written and spoken. While a language certificate isn't mandatory for enrollment, applicants should demonstrate at least a B2-level proficiency in the teaching language. Insufficient language skills might impact grades or lead to course failure.
Application Deadlines
- Fall Term & Full Academic Year (September Start):

August 1st to October 30th - Barcelona International Summer School (July Start):
March 1st to May 17th

Students officially nominated from one of our partner universities need to complete the following sections within the online application and upload the relevant documents.
For those applying through a third-party provider, this process will be managed on their behalf, requiring no additional steps from the applicant.
Students without an institutional agreement can apply to UPF International Programs as independent students (free movers). They must provide pre-approval of credit transfer during the application, and await further instructions upon application review.
Stage 1: Application
1.1 Application: STEP 1
Register in the UPF system by introducing your personal data. This takes around 2-3 minutes.
1.2 Application: STEP 2
Login into Virtual Secretary and click on "Mobility". Select "International Programs", and fill in the online form with your personal and academic details. Upload the required documents (PDF, 9MB maximum). If you don’t upload them, you won’t be able to finish the process:
• A photocopy of your identity card or passport.
• A passport-size picture (max 75kb). It must be passport-style (without sunglasses or hat, with a plain background).
• A photocopy of your transcript of records.
• Travel Medical insurance (Healthcare cards from your home country are not valid).
Optionally:
Successful applicants will receive confirmation they have been allocated a place on their round within 5 working days. Details of how to complete the registration will be included in the email.
Stage 2: Complete your registration (for confirmed applicants only)
Login into Virtual Secretary, select “Enrolment” and choose your modules.
- The system does not show timetable clashes, so please make sure that there are no conflicting modules in your selection.
- When a course is full, the system will let you know.
Tuition fees
The program you’re on will determine whether you’ll need to pay tuition fees to your home university or to UPF.
- If you’re coming as part of an exchange or custom program where you’ve been nominated by your home university, you won’t have to pay any tuition fees to UPF.
- If you’re coming to UPF through direct enrolment, you’ll need to pay tuition fees directly to UPF or the third-party provider you apply through.
Stage 3: Activate your IT account
You will need your Campus Global username/code and password to enter Aula Global (where you will see course materials, submit assignments and check your grades), Access UPF email, Set up Wi-Fi (Eduroam), etc.
In order to get your username/code and password, enter Campus Global and follow these steps:
- Click on You don’t know or can’t remember your code? You will need to enter your year of birth (i.e. 2003) and last name(s)
- Go back to Campus Global and click on Did you forget your password? Use the code you obtained in the previous step and write the captcha. You will get a link to your personal email to reset your UPF Campus Global password.
- Enable the two-factor authentication (2FA) by associating a mobile device to your account.
