• Estoril Political Forum - Europaeum Special Debate, Catholic University of Portugal / Estoril, 4-6 June 2025

The 2025 Estoril Political Forum will investigate the impact of AI on the democratic process, bringing together leading policy-makers and academics from the US, UK, Europe and Portugal. As in previous years, the Europaeum network will host its own special debate, in the style of an Oxford Union debate. Three Europaeum graduate students will be selected to take part in this debate, alongside students from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Catholic University of Portugal. Travel costs, accommodation and board will be provided for those selected to take part. This year’s Europaeum Summer School invites papers and discussions about central debates concerning AI’s impact, including on employment, safety and control, privacy and surveillance, and bias and fairness.
