Conflict management
The doctoral student and the supervisor undertake to collaborate to achieve, first, the definition of the research and training plan, then the preparation of the doctoral thesis, and, lastly, the defence of the doctoral thesis, in accordance with the procedures and deadlines established in the Biomedicine PhD programme, the PhD commitment document and the PRBB Good practices and ethical commitment guidance.
In the event of conflict, whenever possible, the doctoral student and the supervisor must try to solve the problem amicably. The PRBB offers specific training for stress management, negotiation, and communication skills.

The Biomedicine PhD programme offers the following channels for conflict management in order to provide advice, guidance, mediation and intervention to solve the conflict.
A PhD conflict support service is available for students and supervisors. Confidentiality will be maintained until mediation and/or intervention steps if needed. If the involvement of the Academic Committee does not resolve the conflict, it will be resolved by the Steering Committee of the UPF Doctoral School, without prejudice to further legal remedies.
